The Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Nagpur Rural Police conducted a raid at a farmhouse in Kolhi village, Kalmeshwar, following a tip-off about an illegal hookah operation.
During the operation at Zakir Patel Farmhouse, authorities apprehended 25-year-old Mahesh Vasantrao Badekar, a resident of Rajiv Nagar, Hingna, Nagpur, who was allegedly supplying hookahs from the location. During questioning, Badekar disclosed that the property belonged to Zakir Hussain Patel of Jafar Nagar, Nagpur.
Police recovered three hookah pots, coal, small electric grinders, and tobacco products valued at ?4,940 from the premises.
A case has been registered under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003 at Kalmeshwar Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
