A businessman was left battling for life after armed robbers opened fire and looted cash worth around ₹5–6 lakh in Bezonbagh under Jaripatka Police Station late Wednesday night. The sensational incident has triggered panic in the locality.
Bike-borne Robbers Strike:
Police sources informed that the victim, a Jaripatka resident, was carrying cash when he was suddenly intercepted by two unidentified men on a motorcycle. Brandishing a firearm, the assailants threatened him to hand over the money. When the businessman tried to resist and escape, the robbers fired at him, causing severe bullet injuries.
Victim in Critical Condition:
Passersby rushed the injured businessman to Max Hospital, where his condition is reported to be critical. The brazen attack has sent shockwaves among traders, raising concerns over safety in the area.
Police Investigation Underway:
Soon after the incident, senior officials of Nagpur Police, including crime branch teams, reached the crime spot. CCTV footage from Bezonbagh and adjoining areas is being examined to trace the attackers. Investigators suspect the accused may have tracked the victim’s movements before the targeted assault.
Police have booked the case under charges of armed robbery and attempt to murder, and a massive manhunt is underway to nab the culprits.
