Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has directed all concerned departments to complete preparations for Dhammachakra Pravartan Din at Deekshabhoomi and Dragon Palace, Kamptee, as well as the Navratri festival at Koradi, through mutual coordination. Arrangements for drinking water, cleanliness, lighting, bus services, police deployment, fire safety, temporary shelter in case of sudden rains, CCTV cameras, disaster management, health facilities, emergency exits, traffic, and parking must be completed at the earliest, he instructed.
The review meeting was held today at the District Planning Building. It was attended by MLAs Nitin Raut and Charan Singh Thakur, former minister Adv. Sulekha Tai Kumbhare, Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kumar Singhal, NMC Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary, District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, Joint CP Naveenchandra Reddy, Zilla Parishad CEO Vinayak Mahamuni, NMC Additional Commissioners Vasumana Pant and Vaishnavi B., and office bearers of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial Committee, among others.
Minister Bawankule emphasized that devotees visiting Deekshabhoomi and Dragon Palace must be provided with quality health services, and all CCTV cameras should remain functional. He also directed for the deployment of doctors for emergency medical aid. After completing preparatory work, all responsible officials must conduct joint inspections to ensure readiness. He further instructed NMC officials to ensure adequate sanitation workers, proper accommodation facilities, and sufficient toilets.
NMC informed that for devotees visiting Deekshabhoomi, arrangements include directional maps, drinking water points, sanitation, toilets, street lighting, transportation, disaster management systems, and medical facilities. To maintain cleanliness, the Solid Waste Management Department will work round the clock. Additionally, the NMC Health Department will operate five temporary health centers with ambulances available 24/7.
Police officials presented details of preparedness at Deekshabhoomi, Dragon Palace, and Koradi Devi Navratri festival, including security measures, traffic management, and crowd control. For Dragon Palace, separate entry and exit routes, deployment of home guards, mobile toilets, and additional bus services have been arranged. Preparations at Koradi include help centers, electricity and fire safety systems, bus arrangements, and CCTV coverage, the review noted.
