Mrs. Gayathri Vatsalya, author of Disability Etiquette and Founder-President of SVK Shikshan Sanstha, an NGO dedicated to empowering specially-abled individuals, delivered an engaging session on Disability Etiquette at Global Indian International School (GIIS), Nagpur.
The talk focused on sensitizing students to the values of inclusion, respect, and empathy towards persons with disabilities. Through interactive activities and real-life examples, Mrs. Vatsalya highlighted how simple actions—such as using respectful language, offering assistance with courtesy, and treating every individual with dignity—can help build an inclusive society.

“Awareness must begin at a young age,” Mrs. Vatsalya said while addressing the gathering. “When children learn the right way to interact with and support persons with disabilities, they grow up as empathetic, responsible citizens who contribute to a more compassionate world.”
As part of the initiative, Mrs. Vatsalya presented copies of her book Disability Etiquette to the school library.
The session reflects GIIS Nagpur’s commitment to fostering not just academic excellence but also social responsibility and inclusivity among its students.
