The Economic Offence Wing (EOW) has made another breakthrough in the ongoing Mantralaya job fraud case linked to Hudkeshwar. After the earlier arrest of prime accused Lawrence Henry from Mumbai, officials have now apprehended Vijay Patankar from Wathoda.
According to investigators, the accused had lured unemployed youth by promising jobs in Mantralaya and other government departments in exchange for hefty sums of money. The fraud is currently estimated at ₹1.5 crore, but authorities believe the amount could rise drastically—possibly reaching ₹20 to 30 crore—as more victims are expected to come forward with complaints against Henry and his associates.
The EOW has intensified its probe, suspecting a larger network of agents and middlemen operating behind the scam. Officials have assured that strict action will follow, and more arrests are likely in the coming days as the case unfolds.
