NAGPUR: Regional airline Star Air is set to strengthen its operations with the induction of its 12th aircraft, an 88-seater Embraer E175, which the company says is best suited for short-haul routes under the government’s UDAN regional connectivity scheme.
The new addition will enable the carrier to launch services to several upcoming destinations, including Solapur and Vidyanagar, while also increasing flight options from Nagpur. Sources said Star Air is actively planning to introduce more connections linking Nagpur with other cities in the near future.
At present, the airline operates a service between Nagpur’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport and Kishangarh in Rajasthan. The Nagpur–Kolhapur route, which was operational earlier, remains suspended for now.
Star Air’s fleet currently consists of Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft, and the addition of the E175 marks a step up in capacity and network expansion as the carrier looks to tap into the growing demand for regional air travel.
