As part of its Amrit Mahotsav year celebrations, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will be organizing a grand wall painting competition titled ‘Rang De Nagpur’ on October 11 and 12. The registration process for the competition has already begun and will remain open until October 2. Additional Commissioner Mrs. Vasumna Pant has appealed to artists to participate in large numbers and contribute towards the beautification of the city.
Under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary and the supervision of Additional Commissioner Mrs. Vasumna Pant, the Rang De Nagpur competition aims to showcase the glorious 75-year journey and future vision of the NMC. The competition will be held in two categories: Students (18 years and above) and Professionals. Students pursuing BFA, MFA, ATD, GD Fine Arts may participate in the student group, while amateur painters and Fine Arts graduates can participate in the professional group. Each group will consist of teams with five members.
Themes announced for the competition:
- Nagpur @ 75 – The city’s journey of growth and transformation.
- Clean, Green and Smart Nagpur – Emphasizing cleanliness, greenery, and smart city development.
- Culture, History and Heritage of Nagpur.
- Nagpur – The Tiger Capital of India.
Special Prizes:
In the student category, the winners will receive ₹1,00,000 (first prize), ₹75,000 (second prize), and ₹50,000 (third prize). In the professional category, winners will receive ₹1,25,000 (first prize), ₹1,00,000 (second prize), and ₹75,000 (third prize).
How to Participate:
Interested participants must send their sketch entries by October 2 to [email protected]. Selected sketches will be allotted spaces for the final competition on October 11 and 12. Participants will be provided with materials such as paints, brushes, and wall allotments at 7:00 AM on October 11 at the Government College of Art and Design.
