822 Applications Received; Lakadganj Tops the List
Nagpur: With Diwali just days away, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has warned that selling firecrackers without a valid license will invite criminal cases. Every year, many vendors set up temporary stalls in markets claiming it is “only for a week.” But authorities have made it clear: without permission, the stalls are illegal.
The Fire and Emergency Services Department, along with the police, has laid down strict safety guidelines keeping public safety in mind. As of now, 822 sellers have applied for licenses through the NMC’s Fire Department. After scrutiny, temporary licenses will be issued.
To obtain approval, applicants must submit notarized forms, a site inspection report from police and revenue officials, NMC’s No-Objection Certificate, rental agreement, passport-size photos, and a self-undertaking. Fees include ₹3,000 for the license and an additional ₹1,000 as environmental charges.
Authorities stress safety norms:
Every stall must display a “No Smoking” sign.
Each stall must keep buckets of sand for fire safety.
Minimum 10 feet distance must be maintained between stalls.
Applications received fire-station wise:
Sugat Nagar – 96
Ganjipeth – 46
Sakkardara – 98
Cotton Market – 52
