In the 47th National Badminton Championship 2025 organized by the All India Electricity Sports Control Board, MSEDCL’s (Mahavitaran) Women’s Team won the *Gold Medal for the second consecutive time, while the Men’s Team emerged as Bronze Medal winners. Additionally, MSEDCL’s female players dominated the national competition by winning *Gold in Doubles and Silver in Singles. Shri Lokesh Chandra, Chairman and Managing Director of MSEDCL, has extended his congratulations to all the players for their stellar performance.
The three-day 47th National Badminton Championship concluded on Friday (September 26) in Hisar (Haryana). Teams from various power companies across the country participated in this national tournament.
Women’s Dominance and Individual Glory
MSEDCL’s Women’s Team showcased one-sided dominance throughout the tournament, defeating the Gujarat team 2-0 in the final to claim the Gold Medal for the second year in a row. The team’s successful players were: Ritika Naidu (Captain), Anita Kulkarni, Chaitra Pai, Vaishnavi Gangarkar, and Rani Pansare.
Furthermore, Chaitra Pai and Ritika Naidu secured the Gold Medal in the Women’s Doubles category, while Anita Kulkarni earned the Silver Medal in the Women’s Singles category.
Men’s Achievement and Team Support
MSEDCL’s Men’s Team, comprising Bharat Vashisht (Captain), *Pankaj Pathak, Rohan Patil, Suresh Jadhav, and Deepak Naikwade, fought fiercely to reach the semi-finals and ultimately secured the *Bronze Medal in the competition.
Gunwant Ippar served as the Coach for both the Women’s and Men’s Badminton Teams, while Deputy Chief Industrial Relations Officer Bhupendra Waghmare served as the Team Manager. The players received special training in Pune. For this, Pune Regional Director Shri Bhujang Khandare and Pune Circle Chief Engineer Shri Sunil Kakde took the initiative and boosted the morale of the players through regular interaction.
The Captain of the MSEDCL Women’s Team, *Ritika Naidu, works in the Mahal Division under the Nagpur Circle. Chief Engineer **Shri Dilip Dodke, Superintending Engineer **Shri Amit Paranjpe, Executive Engineer *Shri Sameer Tekade, along with many others, congratulated Ritika Naidu and the entire team for this brilliant achievement.
