he District Sports Office, Government of Maharashra organised the Division Level Chess Meet on 29th September 2025 under the Aegis of Directorate of Sports and Youth Services, Pune in association with the G.H.Raisoni Sports and Cultural Foundation and Chess Association Nagpur at G.H.Raisoni Institute of Information and Technology, Shraddha Park, B-36-39/1, Wadi Link Road, MIDC, Hingna, Nagpur, Maharashtra – 441110. The Annual Division Sports Chess Meet was held to select the Nagpur players for participation in the Maharashtra State Level Championships.
Anvi Hirde clinched the Under-14 Girls Title with 5 ½ points to her credit from Six rounds. Nrutya Gurve stood second with 5 points.
In Under Under-17 Girls Group, Riddhi Agrawal won the Championship while Shraddha Bajaj had to be content with second position.
The Under-19 Girls Group saw Lakshita Kranti Rathod emerge winner with Swanandi Sole getting the second position.
In the Boys Under-14 Group, Anay Pimparkar was the winner while Kushagra Paliwal bagged the second spot.
In the Under-17 Boys Group, Nihaan Pohane was a clear winner while Arush Chitre finished Second.
In the Under-19 Group, Saksham Wadhwa won the title. Ayush Ramteke got the second position.
In all 240 players participated in the event which included players from various Districts.
The prizes were distributed at the hands of Dr. Achal Shahare , registrar G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management. Dr. Akhilesh Ugale Registrar G.H.Raisoni University was the Guest of Honour. Shri Bhushan Shriwas, Secretary Chess Association Nagpur and Smt Maya Dubale, Incharge of Chess Meet of DSO office were prominently present on the occasion.
Smt Maya Dubale, incharge of Sports at DSO Office thanked Shri Sunil Raisoni Chairman G.H. Raisoni Group and Dr. Vivek Kapoor, Vice Chanceller, G.H. Raisoni University for providing the premises for organisation of the event.
IA Shiva Iyer was the Chief Arbiter of the event who was assisted by FA Amit Tembhurne, SNA Prayas Ambade, Prathamesh Machave and others.
