Tragedy struck at a construction site on Hingna Road when a 48-year-old electrician died after suffering an electric shock while working at the upcoming Domino’s Pizza outlet.
The incident occurred around 7 pm on September 29 near Shalinitai Meghe Hospital, within MIDC police limits. The deceased, identified as Jahir Munaf Shah (48), resident of Bismillah Nagar, Amravati, currently staying in Nagpur, was engaged in electrical work at the site when he came in contact with a live wire. He collapsed on the spot.
Onlookers rushed him to Shalinitai Meghe Hospital, but doctors declared him dead.
Based on a report filed by his brother Sadiq Munaf Shah (50), MIDC police registered a case of accidental death. Further investigations are on.
