Two separate truck accidents within 24 hours claimed two young lives and left two others injured in different parts of Nagpur.
In the first incident, which occurred around 10:30 pm on September 29, Badal Raut (29), a resident of Mahalgi Nagar, Hudkeshwar, was riding a motorcycle (MH-49 CP 1521) with his friend Sandeep Dharpure (29) on Ring Road, Yashodharanagar police limits. As they reached in front of Chetna Kids School near Big Market, a speeding truck (MH-31 FC 3077), driven recklessly and negligently, rammed into their two-wheeler. Both sustained serious injuries.
They were rushed to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared Badal Raut dead, while his friend Dharpure continues to receive treatment. Yashodharanagar police have registered an FIR against the truck driver under Sections 281, 106, 125(a) BNS and Sections 134, 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
In the second mishap, which took place around 1:50 pm on September 30, Sanjay Kawale (54), a resident of Vinoba Nagar, Dighori, was riding his Honda Activa (MH-49 AY 1128) with his 19-year-old daughter Sakshi in Kalamna police limits. When they reached the flyover near Riwaj Lawn, an Eicher truck (MH-40 BL 6764) hit their two-wheeler from the right side. Both father and daughter fell, and the truck ran over Sakshi.
The duo was taken to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared Sakshi dead during treatment. Her father sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment. Kalamna police have booked the truck driver under Sections 281, 106, 125(a) BNS and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Both accidents have sent shockwaves among residents, raising concerns about rash and negligent driving by heavy vehicles on city roads. Police have assured strict action against the accused drivers.
