Fifteen companies allotted land; two begin production
While MIHAN often dominates the headlines, it is Additional Butibori MIDC that is fast becoming the region’s real investment hub. According to officials, 24 companies have submitted proposals worth ₹1.95 lakh crore, with potential to generate over 70,000 direct jobs and thousands of indirect opportunities for MSMEs.
Manohar Pote, Regional Officer of MIDC Nagpur, said that 15 companies have already been allotted land, committing investments of ₹1.16 lakh crore and promising 35,000 jobs. Among them, Avaada Electro has begun producing solar panels and aims to reach full capacity by December, while Sangam Solar One has also started operations. Pernod Ricard’s liquor plant awaits environmental clearance.
Another nine companies are seeking land, pledging ₹79,000 crore in investment and 35,500 jobs. To accommodate them, MIDC is acquiring 3,700 acres. Avaada plans to set up an industrial glass unit, while Sangam Solar One is seeking expansion land.
Bhoomipujans are also lined up. Waaree Energies, parent of Sangam Solar One, will soon launch work on its ₹8,000 crore solar panel plant, employing 3,650 people. JSW Renewables and Wardhan Lithium are expected to follow within two to three months. Other projects will begin construction in 2026.
To make the process smoother, MIDC has launched the MILAAP portal, enabling online allotment of land with maps, rates, and availability details. Officials say the system removes the need for physical visits to MIDC offices.
With such high-value proposals, Additional Butibori MIDC is shaping up as Vidarbha’s true industrial powerhouse.
