‘Jhund’ actor Babu Chhetri alias Priyanshu Thakur murdered by friend in Nara; Jaripatka Police on lookout for accused
Nagpur: ‘Jhund’ actor and local history-sheeter Babu Chhetri alias Priyanshu Thakur was brutally murdered by his friend Shahu in the Nara area under Jaripatka Police Station in the early hours of Wednesday, October 8.
Police sources said the incident took place after a heated argument between the two friends turned violent. Around 3 am, police received a tip-off about the assault and rushed to the spot, where Chhetri was found dead with grievous injuries. Preliminary investigation indicates that Shahu attacked him with a sharp weapon before fleeing the scene.
The deceased’s body has been sent for post-mortem, and a murder case has been registered. Teams from Jaripatka Division have launched a manhunt to trace and arrest the absconding accused.
Senior police officials visited the crime scene early in the morning. Investigators are probing the exact cause of the dispute that led to the fatal attack.
