Nagpur: Continuing its crackdown on human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation under ‘Operation Shakti’, the Crime Branch’s Social Security Department (SSD) and Anti-Human Trafficking Prevention Unit (AHTU) raided a hotel in Besa Pipla area late on October 9, 2025, rescuing three women and arresting two accused.
Acting on a tip-off, the team raided Pramila Prakash Hotel, Plot No. 10, Dobinagar, Besa Pipla, within Beltarodi Police Station limits, between 5:30 pm and midnight. The accused, identified as Kanchan Moreswar Nimje (28), resident of Golibar Chowk, and Dipak Hemantkumar Shukla (21), resident of Sant Tajuddin Baba Nagar, Besa Road, were found running the sex racket by offering women to customers for financial gain.
Police rescued three victims from the premises and seized a total of ₹65,900 worth of material, including ₹5,400 in cash and three mobile phones.
A case has been registered at Beltarodi Police Station under Sections 143(2) of BNS and Sections 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).
The operation was conducted under the supervision of CP Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint CP Navin Chand Reddy, Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime) Abhijit Patil, led by PI Rahul Shire and PSI Laxman Chavare along with their team.
