Nagpur:In a major burglary, an unidentified thief broke into an electrical shop in Mahal area and escaped with ?12 lakh in cash.
Complainant Manojkumar Vishnudas Khatri (56), a resident of Balaji Enclave, Tulshibag, owns Madhav Electricals, located near Gandhi Gate on Mahal Road. Police said the incident took place between 10.30 pm on October 14 and 10.45 am the next day.
Khatri had locked his shop for the night, but when he opened it the next morning, he found the terrace plastic sheet bent open and the drawer containing ?12 lakh cash missing.
Following his complaint, PSI Santosh Boyne of Kotwali Police registered a case under Sections 305, 331(3), and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) against an unidentified accused.
A probe has been launched to identify the burglar and recover the stolen money.
