In a major action by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Nagpur, an assistant vehicle inspector and a junior clerk from the RTO Office, Nagpur Rural, were caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of ?10,000 from a truck driver.
According to ACB officials, the complainant had approached the accused officials for the release of his seized truck. The officials allegedly demanded ?10,000 for returning the vehicle. Reluctant to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB, Nagpur. Acting on his complaint, the ACB laid a trap on 17 October 2025, during which the junior clerk was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount.
The ACB has registered a case under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is underway.
