Nagpur: Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has once again directed all its affiliated colleges and academic departments to ensure the appointment of Student Development Officers (SDOs), in accordance with Section 56(2)(a) of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016.
The university had previously sought details of such appointments through a communication issued on August 16, 2025. However, only a limited number of institutions had responded. In a renewed directive, RTMNU has instructed all colleges and departments under its jurisdiction to furnish updated information on the status of SDO appointments by November 10, 2025.
According to the notification, institutions that have already appointed an SDO must submit the officer’s details, while those that have not made any appointment—or where the designated officer has retired, been transferred, or left the post—must make a new appointment and share the relevant information.
University officials informed that the required details should be submitted via email to [email protected] or through official correspondence.
Dr. Vijay Khandal, Director-in-Charge of the Student Development Department, underlined the importance of timely compliance, stressing that proper coordination through SDOs is essential for the smooth implementation of student welfare and development initiatives across the university’s network.
