A devastating road accident on the Samruddhi Expressway claimed the lives of two tourists from Myanmar, while one sustained serious injuries and four others suffered minor wounds.
The mishap occurred around 2 am on Friday between Dovha and Jhulka in the Shirpur (Jain) area. According to police reports, an Innova car (MH-01/BB-1215) was travelling from Mumbai to Jagannath Puri when the driver lost control and crashed into the central divider.
The impact was so severe that the front portion of the vehicle was completely mangled, killing Min Aung (33) and Min Chit Aung (13), both residents of Myanmar, on the spot.
Local police from Jhulka quickly arrived at the scene and rushed the injured passengers to the District General Hospital in Washim for treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
