In a step toward smarter and more citizen-friendly water management, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Orange City Water (OCW) have jointly launched the ‘Nagpur Jal Grahak Seva’ mobile app — a modern digital platform that allows residents to access almost all water-related services through their smartphones.
The initiative aims to reduce the need for citizens to visit zone offices or stand in long queues for billing, complaints, or service requests. Officials said the app reflects NMC-OCW’s continued focus on digital governance, transparency, and quick service delivery.
Through the app, users can now register complaints and track their status online in real time. Once a complaint is submitted, it is directly routed to the concerned Network Engineer, removing manual delays and improving response efficiency. The feature is expected to make the city’s water grievance redressal system faster and more accountable.
The app also offers seamless digital billing and payment options. Consumers can view water bills in PDF format, check their payment history, and pay instantly using Net Banking, Debit/Credit Cards, UPI, or mobile wallets. All payment records are stored digitally for easy reference.
Earlier, citizens had to visit local offices for changes such as name corrections, tap size modifications, or new connection requests. Now, these services can be completed with a single click on the app, saving both time and effort.
Additionally, users will receive real-time push notifications and SMS alerts for billing, service interruptions, and updates. Future versions will include live service tracking and personalized consumption dashboards, further enhancing transparency.
Officials said the launch aligns with Nagpur’s Smart City goals, aiming to make water management fully integrated and citizen-centric. The bilingual app (English and Marathi) is available for Android and iOS devices.
Citizens are encouraged to download the app and experience faster, paperless, and more convenient water services. For help, users can contact the NMC-OCW Helpline (1800-266-9899) or email [email protected]
