In a major development in the ongoing corporate dispute involving Meditrina Institute of Medical Sciences Private Limited, Nagpur (previously known as VRG Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.), the Hon’ble National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has appointed Hon’ble Justice Mr. Virendrasingh Gyansingh Bisht (Retd.), Former Judge of the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay, as Administrator of the company.
The case was filed by Mr. Ganesh Ramchandra Chakkarwar, Founding CMD, Director and Substantial Shareholder of Meditrina Institute of Medical Sciences Private Limited, against his co-directors Dr. Sameer Paltewar and Mrs. Sonali Paltewar, alleging large-scale financial irregularities, mismanagement, and diversion of company funds.
It was observed that the company, without an effective Board, has faced severe operational challenges — bank accounts frozen, essential supplies halted, unpaid staff salaries, and declining patient admissions due to the ongoing management dispute.
Quoting from the Hon’ble Tribunal’s observations:
“Considering the entire facts of the case, and in particular, that the respondent company is headed by the Board of Directors, one of whom is in jail and the remaining two directors are at loggerheads, we are of the view that an Independent Director/Administrator is required to be appointed to break the functional deadlock and to ensure that the interests of the company, its stakeholders, and the general public at large are protected.”
Responding to this landmark decision, Mr. Ganesh Ramchandra Chakkarwar expressed his gratitude and faith in the judiciary, stating:
“I am deeply happy and have full confidence in the Indian judiciary. The triumph of truth will prevail in the end. The large-scale siphoning of funds and bad governance practices by Dr. Sameer Paltewar and Sonali Paltewar will now come to an end. I firmly believe that a new, golden era will begin for our hospital — restoring its noble mission to serve the community and the underprivileged people of Nagpur city with integrity and compassion.”
The corporate legal proceedings on behalf of Mr. Ganesh Ramchandra Chakkarwar were led by a professional legal and corporate team comprising Corporate Consultant Prof. CS Vikas Suresh Chedge, Adv. Partho Sarathy Sarkar, Adv. Pratik Sarkar, Adv. Nicky Poker, and Adv. Anubhav Arun Mardikar.
