The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has launched a major housing project to construct and sell 518 affordable homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 – Housing for All scheme. Estimated at ₹91.49 crore, the project aims to provide secure homes for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) families while strengthening urban infrastructure in the city’s northern corridor.
The scheme will be developed on a 16,067 sq. m. plot at Mouza Nari (Khasra No. 96/4), featuring 15 buildings of up to eight floors (stilt + seven storeys). It will include 210 one-BHK units of 32.55 sq. m. and 308 two-BHK units of 45 sq. m., all equipped with water, electricity, and sanitation facilities.
Each cluster will have internal roads, drainage systems, streetlights, compound walls, and a sewage treatment plant, along with 15 small commercial units to support local businesses. The project, with a 36-month completion timeline, will begin after finalising at least 25% of the beneficiary list under PMAY 2.0 norms. Archinova Design Inc. has been appointed as the project management consultant.
NMC will retain land ownership, while the developer will hold development and sales rights, with transactions routed through escrow accounts and tripartite sale agreements to ensure transparency.
Officials said the initiative aims to bridge Nagpur’s affordable housing gap and offer dignified living spaces for families earning below ₹3 lakh annually. Once completed, the Nari housing cluster will house over 2,000 residents, emerging as a self-contained urban neighbourhood
