Nagpur, 04 Nov (HS): The Higher and Technical Education Department has granted Rs 7 crore every year to the Laxminarayan Innovative Technology University in Nagpur. The money will be given in four instalments from the academic year 2025-2026 to 20229-2030. The decision to extend the grants to LITU was taken during the Cabinet meeting of the Maharashtra Government on Tuesday.
Established in 1942 through the donation by a businessman and philanthropist Raobahadur D Laxminarayan, the institute is one of the most reputed institutes in world. LITU which was affiliated to the Nagpur University has been recently granted the status of a University.
The Institute has produced several great students who are leading commercial institutions and research institutes across the world.
