The Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) Hot Mix Plant Department has intensified road repair work across the city under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijeet Chaudhari. With the modernization of the Hot Mix Plant initiated by Dr. Chaudhari, the plant’s efficiency has significantly improved, leading to visible positive results in road maintenance.
Despite the monsoon season, the department successfully carried out extensive road repair and pothole-filling operations. During June and July, the department completed repair work covering an area of 41,411 square meters and filled a total of 2,114 potholes across the city. The plant’s operations are being effectively managed under the supervision of Executive Engineer Ajay Dahake, with Deputy Engineer Prafull Asalkar and Assistant Civil Engineer Vinayak Chavan providing technical support at the Hingna Hot Mix Plant.
To ensure smooth road repair in all ten city zones, NMC has appointed two agencies — Arems and S.K. Gurubaxani, represented by Smera Mehta. Additionally, two in-house task forces have been formed. The first team, led by Deputy Engineer Abhijeet Bhure and Junior Engineer Ankush Kuwar, is handling repairs in Dhantoli, Laxminagar, Mangalwari, Hanuman Nagar, and Nehru Nagar zones. The second team, under Deputy Engineer Manohar Rathod and Assistant Engineer Shailesh Jambhulkar, is covering Gandhibagh, Satranjipura, and Lakadganj areas.
Currently, the department is repairing roads at Pandharabodi in Ramnagar and from Care Hospital to Kalpana Building in Ramdaspeth, according to Deputy Engineer Abhijeet Bhure.
