In the wake of the blast near a Delhi Metro station, the Nagpur District has been placed on high alert, with security intensified at key installations including Deekshabhoomi, the RSS Headquarters, and Nagpur Railway Station. Multiple nakabandi points have been set up across the city, and strict police bandobast with round-the-clock monitoring is underway, senior officials from Nagpur Police confirmed.
Superintendent of Police Harsh Poddar said that precautionary measures have been stepped up across the district following the Delhi incident. “Three bomb disposal squads are on alert to respond swiftly to any suspicious activity,” he stated, adding that vigilance has been increased at vital public places and transit points.
The Nagpur Rural Police are conducting stringent checks at inter-state borders, screening vehicles and monitoring movement of suspicious individuals. Public announcements are also being made at crowded areas and transport hubs to urge citizens not to touch or approach unidentified substances or unattended objects.
Police have appealed to residents to stay alert and cooperate with security personnel as part of efforts to maintain peace and prevent any untoward incident in the district.
