The Tribal Development Department is set to host a three-day State Tribal Cultural Mahotsav from November 15 to 17 at the Mankapur Sports Stadium, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Krantisurya Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The occasion is being observed across the country as Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh.
Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat will inaugurate the cultural festival on Saturday at 11 a.m., while Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will preside over the event. Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari will attend as the guest of honour. Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, along with ministers Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Ashok Wooike (Uike), Adv. Ashish Jaiswal, Indraneel Naik, MP Shyamkumar Barve, and state BJP president Ravindra Chavan will also be prominently present.
At a press conference held on Thursday, Tribal Development Minister Ashok Wooike announced that government departments will launch a large-scale campaign across 4,975 tribal villages in Maharashtra to ensure integrated development of Adivasi communities. He further informed that Chetana Parishad, Adikarmayogi Abhiyan, PM Janman, and the Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsha Abhiyan Workshop will take place on Sunday at the same venue, starting at 11 a.m.
