Train operations across multiple routes passing through the Nagpur Division will face significant disruption as the Shalimar yard under the Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway (SER) undergoes major modernisation. The redevelopment work, scheduled from November 13 to November 23, will result in the cancellation and partial regulation of several long-distance trains, Central Railway officials confirmed.
Complete Cancellations Announced
During the yard block period, the following trains will remain cancelled:
- 18029 LTT–Shalimar Express: Cancelled on November 13 to 19, 22 and 23
- 18030 Shalimar–LTT Express: Cancelled from November 13 to 21
In addition, the Samarsata Express will also be affected:
- 12151 LTT–Shalimar Samarsata Express: Will not run on November 12, 13 and 19
- 12152 Shalimar–LTT Samarsata Express: Cancelled on November 14, 15 and 21
Partial Cancellations Between Santragachi and Shalimar
Two major services will be short-terminated or short-originated due to the yard work:
- 12101 LTT–Shalimar Express (departing November 18) will terminate at Santragachi
- 12102 Shalimar–LTT Express (scheduled for November 20) will start from Santragachi instead of Shalimar
Similarly:
- 12905 Porbandar–Shalimar Express (departing November 19) will terminate at Santragachi
- 12906 Shalimar–Porbandar Express (on November 21) will originate from Santragachi
Railway Officials Urge Passengers to Check Updated Schedules
Authorities have advised passengers to verify train schedules beforehand and plan their journeys accordingly, as the temporary changes are expected to impact travel patterns across the region.
