Nagpur: In a coordinated action under Operation Shakti to dismantle networks involved in human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, the Crime Branch’s Social Security Branch (SSB) rescued a minor girl and arrested a 45-year-old woman from a lodge on Umred Road during an overnight raid.
Acting on specific intelligence, the team raided Hotel Yashraj Inn near Bahadura Phata, Hudkeshwar jurisdiction, between 4.40 pm on November 13 and 12.35 am on November 14.
During the operation, police detained Vidya Dhanraj Fulzhele (45), a resident of Sharda Layout, Kharbi, Wathoda, for allegedly providing rooms to customers and forcing minor girls into prostitution for monetary gain. A minor girl was rescued from her custody.
Police seized ₹2,500 in cash, a mobile phone, a DVR and other materials worth ₹20,730.
A case has been registered at Hudkeshwar Police Station under Section 143(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act (ITPA). The accused and seized property were handed over to Hudkeshwar Police for further action.
This operation was led by PI Rahul Shire and PSI Prakash Mathankar under the supervision of Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknikar and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil.
