Nagpur: Intensifying its fight against narcotics under the Operation Thunder – Nasha Mukt Samaj Ghadvuya drive, Crime Branch Unit-4 arrested a 20-year-old youth with 324 grams of ganja at Shyambagh ground in Sakkardara on Friday evening.
Acting on a reliable input, the team laid a trap near the EPF Office Road, Shyambagh, around 6.20 pm on November 14. During the raid, police intercepted Pawan Swarnadeep Sahare (20), a resident of Old Sakkardara, who was found with ganja.
Police seized 324 grams of cannabis, ₹500 in cash, a mobile phone and his two-wheeler — all valued at ₹1,06,500.
During interrogation, Sahare disclosed that he procured the ganja with the help of an accomplice identified as Rohit, who is currently absconding.
A case has been registered at Sakkardara Police Station under Sections 8(c), 20(b), 2(a), 29 of the NDPS Act. Sahare has been arrested, and search operations are underway to trace his associate.
The action was executed under the guidance of Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil by Unit-4 officers.
