Nagpur woke up to a noticeably colder morning on Monday, with the minimum temperature dropping to 10.5°C, marking a 0.3°C fall in the last 24 hours. The temperature remained 4.8°C below normal, signalling that the city is steadily moving toward a stronger winter phase. The cooler breeze during early hours was more prominent compared to the previous week, marking one of the season’s coldest mornings so far.

Cooling Trend Across Vidarbha
While Nagpur felt the chill, several other cities across Vidarbha also reported significant dips in minimum temperatures:
- Yavatmal emerged as the region’s coldest spot at 9.6°C, with a sharp 1.2°C drop and a steep –7.4°C departure, the largest in the region.
- Gondia and Bhandara both logged 10.0°C, with Gondia showing a slight rise (+0.4°C) but still remaining 5.8°C below normal.
- Amravati matched Nagpur’s minimum at 10.5°C, registering a –2°C drop and a notable –6.2°C departure from average.
- Wardha recorded 11.4°C, dipping by 0.6°C, keeping conditions cooler than normal by 4.6°C.
- Akola touched 11.9°C, showing a 0.7°C decline and –4.4°C departure.
- Gadchiroli remained slightly warmer at 12.0°C, with a marginal 0.2°C fall.
- Brahmapuri, Chandrapur, and Buldana hovered around 13°C, still maintaining below-normal trends between –3.5°C and –4.4°C.
The data shows a consistent winter-like trend across Vidarbha, with most districts recording significantly below-normal minimum temperatures. The sharp departures indicate that the region is experiencing an early and stronger onset of the winter chill.
