The unique postcard painting and sketching activity, organized as part of the upcoming “Nagpur Book Festival 2025,” has received an overwhelming response from students. The festival is being jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the Government of Maharashtra, the National Book Trust, and the Zero Mile Youth Foundation from 22 to 30 November 2025 at Reshimbag Ground, Nagpur.
More than 1,500 students from various colleges and schools across the city and state participated enthusiastically in this special activity based on the theme ‘Books and Readers.’ The students beautifully illustrated postcards, expressing the importance of reading, the magical world of books, and different dimensions of knowledge through their creative artwork.
Institutions that participated in this initiative include Sir J. J. School of Art (Mumbai), Government College of Art & Design (Nagpur), Natraj Art and Culture Centre, Nagpur Fine Art College, Shri Kala Mahavidyalaya (Wardha), Vasant Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya (Hinganghat), as well as several Nagpur-based schools such as Pandit Bachhraj School, Shri Niketan High School, Durganagar High School, Vinayakrao Deshmukh High School, Kalyan Mukbadhir School, The Achievers School, Jain International School, Ira International School, and Centre Point International School—making a total of 15 to 20 educational institutions.
The objective behind this initiative is to cultivate a love for reading among students and strengthen their connection with art and books, said Zero Mile Youth Foundation directors Prashant Kukde, Samay Bansod, and Kalyan Deshpande.
