The musical programme ‘Bollywood Classic’, presented by Shri Siddhivinayak Publicity and featuring evergreen Hindi film songs from 1960 to 2000, was held on Thursday at Scientific Hall, Laxminagar. The event drew an overwhelming response, with the audience cheering, applauding and celebrating every performance with great enthusiasm.
Conceptualised and produced by Sameer Pandit, the programme opened with his energetic rendition of ‘Raju Chal Raju’, which instantly enlivened the atmosphere. Guest singer Niketa Joshi charmed listeners with ‘Kya Jaanu Sajan’, while Jyoti Bankar added depth to the evening with soulful performances of ‘Rasme Ulfat’ and ‘Pyaar Karne Wale’.
The musical journey continued with engaging performances by Dattatray Wazarkar (‘A Chal Ke Tujhe’), Neerja Dhande (‘Rangeela Re’), Sameeksha Charde (‘Tu Shayar Hai’), Mohini Deshpande (‘Woh Haseen Dard’), Anil Nair (‘Musafir Hoon Yaaron’) and Sunil Mahurkar (‘Pukarta Chala Hoon Main’). Shashikant Waghmare mesmerised the audience with ‘Ek Haseen Shaam Ko’ and ‘Haal Kya Hai Dilon Ka’, while Prashant Anwane delivered a heartfelt rendition of ‘Kahin Door Jab Din Dhal Jaye’. Adding further vibrance to the evening were performances by Ashish Patil, Shrikant Lakhe, Diwakar Nahate and Nilesh Ankhindi, who presented a variety of popular classics.
The programme also showcased memorable duets including ‘Ye Mere Humsafar’, ‘Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahin’, ‘Jaaneman Jaaneman’, ‘Keh Do Ke Tum’, ‘Hum To Tere Aashiq Hain’, ‘Jo Haal Dil Ka’, ‘Kya Khoob Lagti Ho’, ‘Vaada Karke Sajna’ and ‘Baazigar O Baazigar’. Throughout the event, singers were supported by an accomplished music team comprising Parimal Joshi, Rigved Pandey, Pankaj Yadav, Mahendra Watulkar and Raju Gajbhiye.
