The stretch from Jaiprakash Nagar to Khamla–Sahakar Nagar has emerged as one of the city’s most troublesome commute routes, with motorists facing daily delays caused by a malfunctioning traffic signal and rampant roadside parking. What was once a smooth connector has now become a constant choke point, particularly during school and office hours.
The main problem centres around the traffic signal near the former mutton market, which operates only sporadically. On some days, it functions for a few minutes before shutting down, while on others it remains completely non-functional. This inconsistency has left motorists confused, triggering chaotic movement from all directions.
With no traffic police personnel deployed during peak hours, the congestion worsens rapidly. Commuters report that the moment the signal stops working, the junction descends into disorder. Vehicles merge randomly, two-wheelers try to squeeze through narrow gaps, and cars frequently get stuck in long, unmoving queues.
Residents say the lack of proper traffic management has turned the stretch into a daily ordeal, urging authorities to intervene before the situation deteriorates further.
