The College of Agriculture (COA), Nagpur, claimed the Zone D Intercollegiate Cricket Tournament title with an emphatic performance at the Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Mahavidyalaya PG Hostel Ground, Ramdaspeth.
The tournament featured a series of competitive league and knockout matches, culminating in two high-intensity semifinals. In the first semifinal, MBPCOA, Hiratola overcame ANCOA, Warora to secure their place in the final. The second semifinal saw COA Nagpur outplay COA, Mul with a strong all-round display, earning their berth in the championship clash.
The title match, however, proved to be completely one-sided. After winning the toss, Hiratola elected to bat first in the 16-over fixture but faltered against COA Nagpur’s disciplined bowling attack. Their innings collapsed for just 37 runs, with all ten wickets falling cheaply.
COA Nagpur responded with dominance, chasing the modest target in only 4.3 overs and sealing an eight-wicket victory to lift the Zone D championship trophy.
Individual performances added further shine to the finale. COA captain Vikrant Pachpor, who showcased consistent batting throughout the tournament, was named Best Batsman. His teammate Atharva Raut delivered outstanding bowling displays, earning both the Best Bowler and Man of the Tournament honours.
