Nagpur has transformed into a fully booked powerhouse ahead of the Maharashtra Legislature’s Winter Session starting December 8, with the city’s hotel industry witnessing one of its biggest booking frenzies in recent memory. As ministers, lawmakers, senior bureaucrats, security teams and political entourages stream into the state’s second capital, hotel rooms have vanished at lightning speed—leaving even seasoned hoteliers stunned by the scale of demand.
Across Nagpur’s top hotels—collectively offering over 1,200 premium rooms—not a single high-end room is available. Daily tariffs that usually hover around ₹10,000–₹12,000 have exploded to ₹15,000–₹20,000, while elite suites now command an astonishing ₹25,000 per night. Many hotels have quietly ring-fenced a few rooms for protocol and emergency use, tightening the squeeze even more.
The city’s hospitality boom is being powered by the Dynamic Rate System, under which room prices climb automatically as demand spikes. With occupancy hitting 100 percent, rates have surged by 20–25 percent—turning the Winter Session into a blockbuster season for hotel revenues.
The scramble for rooms began nearly three weeks ago, when hotels were flooded with reservation requests from government departments and security agencies. As premium options disappeared, the rush spilled over to mid-range and budget hotels, which offer more than 4,000 rooms. These properties, too, are packed, with tariffs soaring from ₹3,000–₹5,000 to ₹8,000–₹15,000.
“The moment the dates were declared, bookings shot through the roof. Emails are still pouring in—it’s absolute chaos,” said Tejindersingh Renu, President, Nagpur Residential Hotels Association.
Hotel Centre Point MD Jarbeer Singh Arora called it “one of the strongest waves of demand we’ve ever seen.”
As lawmakers prepare for high-stakes debates, Nagpur’s hotel industry is already celebrating—fuelled by buzzing lobbies, bursting guest lists and record-breaking tariffs.
