The Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshanarthi Sahayyak Sanghatna will organise a large ‘Chocolate Morcha’ on December 9, urging the State Government to provide job placements to 1.75 lakh trainee youths who worked in various government departments for 11 months.
Regional President Balaji Patil Chakurkar, speaking at a press conference at Ravi Bhavan on Monday, said these youths were engaged under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana. However, after completing their 11-month training period, they now face unemployment as the government has not offered them further jobs.
The protest march will begin at 10 am from Lokmat Square and proceed towards the Vidhan Bhavan. Participants will distribute chocolates along the way to symbolise what they call the government’s “false promises” to trainees.
The protesters plan to submit their demands to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Nearly 10,000 participants are expected to join the march.
