The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has cleared the revised design for the 204-km Nagpur–Chandrapur Expressway, incorporating suggestions from the Central government’s Gatishakti Portal.
Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif, Public Works Minister Shivendrasinh Bhosale, and Chief Secretary Rajesh Agarwal attended the meeting.
Fadnavis emphasized that all ongoing and proposed infrastructure projects must receive approval from the Gatishakti Portal before being placed before the committee. Public Works Department Additional Chief Secretary Manisha Mhaiskar presented the updated plan.
The revised proposal includes a 192-km highway from Seldoh Interchange on the Samruddhi Expressway to Navegaon (Mor) on the Durg–Hyderabad Highway, along with an 11-km Chandrapur Link Road retained from the original design. The updated alignment will also help conserve 27 hectares of forest land.
