As preparations intensify for the upcoming Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) elections, elaborate arrangements have been put in place at Bachat Bhavan in Sitabuldi for the secure storage of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and the conduct of First Level Checking (FLC).
The strong room at the facility, considered a critical component of the election process, will remain under round-the-clock surveillance through 14 CCTV cameras to ensure security and transparency.
On Wednesday, NMC Commissioner Dr Abhijit Chaudhari conducted a physical inspection of the strong room to review administrative preparedness. He was accompanied by senior officials during the visit.
Officials said that EVMs received from the State Election Commission will be dispatched zone-wise from Bachat Bhavan to polling stations across the city.
