The redevelopment of Ajni Railway Station is progressing steadily, with visible transformation across residential facilities, station buildings and passenger infrastructure. The project aims to develop Ajni into a modern, commuter-friendly railway station equipped with improved amenities, seamless passenger movement and enhanced safety standards.
A major milestone has been achieved with the completion of two Type-IV residential towers (S+7), comprising 28 modern railway quarters. These quarters provide comfortable and contemporary living spaces for railway staff, and the residential component of the project has been fully completed.
The East Side Station Building (G+3) is nearing completion and is emerging as a key passenger interface. The RCC framework has been completed, while internal and external finishing works are in full swing. Installation of modern passenger amenities, including lifts and escalators, is underway. External façade works are also progressing, giving the building a modern and attractive appearance.
Work on the West Side Station Building (G+2) has gained momentum. Piling works have been completed, and pile cap and plinth beam works are currently in progress. To facilitate the redevelopment, dismantling of a portion of the existing Metro Station structure has been successfully carried out.
Significant progress is being made on Foot Over Bridges and the concourse to enhance passenger connectivity. Girder launching is underway at the North FOB, foundation and column works have been completed at the South FOB, while concourse piling and structural column works are progressing steadily. Works on the Central FOB, including reinforcement and column construction, are also in progress.
Overall, the redevelopment works at Ajni Railway Station are advancing steadily, reaffirming Central Railway’s commitment to providing a modern, efficient and passenger-centric station with improved facilities and smoother circulation for commuters.
