Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming crime thriller Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web, headlined by Emraan Hashmi. Emraan Hashmi leads the series as Arjun Meena, a sharp and resolute customs officer heading the mission. His team includes Mitali Kamath (Amruta Khanvilkar), Ravinder Gujjar (Nandish Singh Sandhu), and Prakash Kumar (Anurag Sinha). Together, they take on notorious smuggling kingpin Bada Chaudhary, portrayed by Sharad Kelkar. The series is produced by Friday Storytellers and created by Neeraj Pandey.

Speaking about the project, Pandey shared that exploring the world of customs enforcement had long been on his mind. “Customs is a space that operates quietly, with precision and constant pressure, and that’s what fascinated me,” he said. He added that collaborating with a committed cast and crew made the journey especially rewarding and expressed excitement about reuniting with Netflix after the success of Khakee. According to Pandey, Taskaree is a distinct, authentic crime thriller that aims to meet audience expectations.

Emraan Hashmi echoed the enthusiasm, saying the response to the teaser has been heartening. He described Taskaree as a grounded and intelligent portrayal of heroism—focused on discipline, duty, and quiet courage rather than flamboyance. Calling it a fulfilling first collaboration with Neeraj Pandey, Hashmi said he is eager for audiences to finally experience the series.
Directed by Raghav Jairath, the show also stars Zoya Afroz and promises edge-of-the-seat suspense, where every passenger and suitcase could be hiding a secret. Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web premieres on Netflix on January 14, 2026.
