Nagpur cricket fans can mark their calendars as online ticket sales for the opening India–New Zealand T20 International at VCA’s Jamtha Stadium will begin on January 17. The first match of the five-match T20 series will be played on January 21, bringing international T20 action back to Jamtha after September 2022.
Tickets for the general public will be available from 10 am through the official ticketing partner, District by Zomato, on its mobile app and website (district.in). As per VCA guidelines, a maximum of two tickets can be booked per buyer, linked to one mobile number and email ID.
Members’ ticket sale from January 13
VCA Life Members and affiliated clubs will get early access through offline ticket sales from January 13 to 15 at Bilimoria Hall, VCA, Civil Lines, between 9.30 am and 9 pm. Members must present their newly issued VCA membership ID cards to collect tickets. A member may collect tickets for up to four other members by producing their valid ID cards, while authorised representatives will require written authority letters along with membership IDs.
Each Life Member and affiliated club will receive one complimentary ticket in the air-conditioned members’ box. Members may also exchange this ticket for one of a lower denomination, if they wish, and can purchase up to four additional tickets of any category. Selected schools will be offered tickets at concessional rates.
Tickets booked online must be redeemed between January 18 and 20 at Bilimoria Hall. No ticket redemption facility will be available at Jamtha Stadium on match day.
Match-day arrangements
Subject to police permission, stadium gates will open at 4 pm on match day. Spectators have been advised to carry cash for food purchases, as digital payments may be affected by network and internet connectivity issues at the venue.
To ease travel, VCA has arranged bus services for pick-up and drop from New Airport Metro Station, along with shuttle buses from the designated parking area near the UltraTech Cement Plant to the Jamtha Stadium T-point. The association has also requested the Nagpur Municipal Corporation to run additional city buses and urged Maha Metro to operate extra services up to New Airport Metro Station on the day of the match.
Teams’ arrival and series schedule
The New Zealand team is expected to arrive in Nagpur by chartered flight on January 19, while selected Indian T20 players will also assemble in the city the same day. VCA has stated that Jamtha Stadium is fully prepared to host the match, with free parking and drinking water facilities available.
After the Nagpur opener, the series will move to Raipur on January 23, Guwahati on January 25, Visakhapatnam on January 28, and conclude in Thiruvananthapuram on January 31.
