Ahead of the first T20 International between India and New Zealand on January 21 at the VCA Stadium in Jamtha, the Nagpur City Traffic Police have announced a special traffic and parking plan to ease congestion around the stadium and along Wardha Road.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Lohit Matani said that entry for all vehicles from Jamtha T-Point will be completely restricted, except for those carrying players and umpires. Clearly marked entry and exit routes have been designated, and motorists have been instructed to strictly follow traffic directions.
Parking arrangements include:
Zone G: VCA members only
Zone A: VIPs, police, and media
Zone B: Four-wheelers
Zone C (Anvita Farm): Two-wheelers
Zone D-1: Four-wheelers on one side and two-wheelers on the other
Zones D-2, D-3, D-4, D-5 & Zone E (UltraTech): Four-wheelers
Zone H: School buses only
Zone I: Reserved parking
Vehicles approaching Jamtha from Wardha Road and Butibori Road will be diverted to Zone F (Brahmakumari), where separate parking facilities for two-wheelers and four-wheelers have been arranged. Vehicles crossing Jamtha T-Point will be directed towards the UltraTech parking area.
To minimise traffic congestion, spectators have been strongly advised to use the Nagpur Metro. Feeder bus services will operate from metro stations to the stadium, with additional buses running from designated parking zones.
Traffic restrictions:
Motorists not attending the match are advised to avoid the Jamtha–Wardha Road stretch between 5 pm and 7 pm, and again from 10 pm to 11.30 pm after the match. School buses will be diverted via UNCI Road near the National Cancer Institute.
General spectators and VCA members must park their vehicles near Gate No. 13 as per the notified plan. Police have urged cricket fans to use only the designated routes and parking zones and to refer to the traffic police advisory map to avoid inconvenience.
