Commuters and residents in Nagpur’s Civil Lines and Ravi Nagar areas continue to grapple with severe traffic disruption as CP Club Road remains closed for over two weeks due to ongoing infrastructure work, with no official clarity on when normal movement will resume.
The road was initially shut for a brief period to facilitate pipeline installation. However, the closure has stretched beyond 15 days, leaving barricades in place and forcing motorists to take lengthy and confusing detours. The situation has worsened with the obstruction now extending towards the Ravi Nagar Quarters road, further restricting access in this important administrative zone.
Residents allege that site workers had earlier assured them the road would be made operational within a week. More than ten days after that assurance, no visible progress has been made, fuelling public anger. The absence of formal communication from the concerned authorities has added to the frustration among daily commuters.
Traffic movement has also been severely affected due to simultaneous construction activity near Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Hall and the stretch facing the Chitnavis Centre, virtually paralysing the entire corridor. With multiple access points either dug up or blocked, citizens are demanding accountability and a clear timeline for reopening these crucial roads.
