More than two core students from one lakh schools with seven lakh teachers together recited the national anthem and then performed drill on patriotic songs under the ;Rashtra Pratham’ (Nation First) project on the Republic Day on Monday. The feat has been officially recorded by the World Book of Records, London.
Minister for School Education Dada Bhuse informed the media that the schools across Maharashtra performed drill after the flag hoisting and reciting the National Anthem, which is an international record.
The project was conceptualised by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and implemented through Bhuse. The rehearsal for the achievement was going on for about a month. The School Education Department had supplied a 14-minute video recording to the schools. Another project implemented at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district has entered Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records, Bhuse said.
The School Education Department has also planned a programme of drill based on patriotic songs iin schools of all mediums on every Saturday.
Minister Bhuse and Minister of State Dr Pankaj Bhoyar has congratulated the students, teachers and officers concerned for success of the programme.
