In a significant move to bolster urban mobility, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) Aapli Bus service has launched six additional buses on Route No. 87, effective February 2, 2026. This development aims to enhance connectivity between Amravati Road and Hingna Road, two critical traffic corridors in the city.
The new buses will commence operations at 7:00 AM from the Aapli Bus Terminal (Morbhavan) and will run every 30 minutes until 7:30 PM. This initiative introduces the first direct public bus link between Waddhamna on Amravati Road and Wanadongri on Hingna Road, effectively bridging a long-standing gap for commuters in the area.
According to NMC officials, the revised schedule and increased bus fleet are designed to improve the daily commuting experience. The enhanced service will provide residents, students, and professionals with smoother travel options and better access to vital destinations, including hospitals, educational institutions, and employment centers along the route.
“This expansion is part of our broader commitment to strengthening public transport infrastructure,” said an NMC spokesperson. “We encourage citizens to choose safe, reliable, and affordable city bus services.”
The introduction of these additional buses not only addresses the needs of everyday commuters but also supports the city’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable public transportation. As urban areas like Nagpur continue to grow, such initiatives are crucial in ensuring efficient mobility and reducing reliance on private vehicles.
