A total of four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed today at the Advantage Vidarbha Khasdar Audyogik Mahotsav. Among them, a major MoU was signed between the State Government and Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, under which an investment of ₹15,000 crore will be made in Nagpur.
This investment will be implemented in phases over the next ten years, with production likely to commence from 2028. As part of the project, an integrated automobile facility will be established in Nagpur, comprising automobile, electric vehicle, and tractor manufacturing units.
Approximately 1,500 acres of land will be acquired in Nagpur for this project. In addition, a supplier park will be developed over 150 acres in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, which will be expanded in the next phase to about 300 acres in Igatpuri. The entire project is expected to generate significant industrial investment and employment opportunities across Maharashtra.
Rajesh Jejurikar of Mahindra & Mahindra stated that Maharashtra offers a highly conducive environment for industries, with both the state government and local population being industry-friendly and ambitious. On this occasion, he specially appreciated the support extended by Ashish Kale, President of the Association for Industrial Development, throughout the process.
He also expressed special gratitude to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ Chief Financial Advisor Kaustubh Dhavse, State Industries Secretary P. Anbalagan, and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
In his address, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised the consistent follow-up carried out by the Association for Industrial Development under the leadership of President Ashish Kale and expressed satisfaction over such a large-scale investment coming to the Vidarbha region.
