In a swift and coordinated operation, the Child Protection Team rescued three child labourers—two boys and one girl—following a complaint received on the Child Helpline number 1098.
The rescue was carried out in the Railway Museum area near Kadbi Chowk, where the minors were reportedly engaged in labour. Initial inquiries revealed that all three children hail from Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh.
Authorities immediately provided counselling to the rescued children, and steps are being taken to complete the legal procedures required for their rehabilitation. Officials confirmed that stringent action will be taken against the individuals responsible under the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act.
The administration has appealed to citizens to promptly report any instance of child labour by contacting Child Helpline 1098.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of District Women and Child Development Officer Sunil Meshram, led by District Child Protection Officer Mustaq Pathan, with support from Child Helpline representatives Aniket Bhivgade, Meenakshi Dhadade, Mangala Tembhurne, and Ranjit Kumbhare.
