Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has initiated the process to set up an Integrated Diagnostic and Dialysis Centre at Mouza Jattarodi, Rambag Road, through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model aimed at expanding affordable healthcare access in the city. The Request for Proposal (RFP), issued on February 5, 2026, invites reputed healthcare institutions, trusts and Section 8 companies to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the facility for a 30-year concession period .
The project will come up on a 2,690 sq.m. plot owned by NMC and reserved for public/semi-public use, with the civic body providing land while the selected concessionaire undertakes full project execution . The centre is planned to offer advanced radiology and imaging services — including MRI (3 Tesla), CT scan (128-slice or above), PET-CT, digital X-ray and ultrasound — along with a 10-bed dialysis unit and pathology laboratory services
Services will be provided at rates lower than CGHS benchmarks, with bidders required to quote a minimum 20% discount over CGHS rates. According to the project background, the initiative seeks to bridge a critical gap in affordable diagnostic and dialysis services, which are currently dominated by private providers charging rates beyond the reach of economically weaker sections
By leveraging private investment and operational efficiency under a regulated framework, NMC aims to reduce out-of-pocket medical expenses and ensure timely diagnosis for low- and middle-income groups. The lease deed provides for a nominal annual lease rental of ₹1 per sq.ft., underscoring the public welfare objective of the project
The selected concessionaire will be responsible for construction, equipment procurement, staffing, accreditation compliance (NABL/NABH norms), and long-term maintenance, with performance standards and monitoring provisions built into the agreement. Civic officials said the facility is expected to strengthen Nagpur’s public health ecosystem by complementing municipal hospitals and urban health centres, reducing patient load on tertiary facilities, and improving access to affordable, technology-driven diagnostics within city limits.
