Demonstrating rapid response and coordinated teamwork, Ajni Police in Nagpur traced a missing four-year-old boy within an hour of receiving a complaint from his family on Saturday evening.
Rahul Lokhande, a resident of Naik Nagar (Plot No. 118) under Ajni police station limits, approached the police at around 6.15 pm stating that his son, Vihaan Rahul Lokhande (4), had gone missing around 5 pm and had not returned home.
Acting swiftly, police immediately alerted the Control Room and informed senior officials. Multiple teams were deployed from Ajni Police Station and neighbouring police stations, including Beltarodi, Hudkeshwar, Imamwada, Nandanvan and Sakkardara, to trace the child.
Senior officers, including Deputy Commissioner of Police Rashmita Rao (Zone 4, Nagpur City) and Assistant Commissioner of Police Hivare (Ajni Division), personally visited the spot and monitored the search operation. Police personnel collected detailed information from family members and began scanning CCTV footage in and around the locality.
After an intensive search and technical verification, the boy was found inside his own house. During a thorough inspection of the residence, officers discovered that the child had fallen asleep in a room on the upper floor. He was safely reunited with his father, bringing relief to the family.
Local corporator Bharti Bunde also supported the efforts by circulating messages about the missing child through WhatsApp groups to assist in the search.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of DCP Rashmita Rao and ACP Hivare, and under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Nitinchandra Rajkumar. The search team included Police Sub-Inspector Siddhant Maske, Head Constables Manoj Neware and Avinash Changole, Police Constables Rukhsar Sheikh (Buckle No. 2644), Reshma Khan (Buckle No. 21362), Ashish Bawane (Buckle No. 21023), along with investigation teams and staff from the assisting police stations.
The prompt coordination among multiple units ensured the safe recovery of the child in a remarkably short span, underscoring the preparedness of Nagpur Police in handling emergency situations.
