Nagpur: At least 15 persons were killed in a powerful explosion at SBL Energy Limited in Rahudgaon village under the Kalmeshwar police station limits on the outskirts of Nagpur, officials confirmed on Sunday.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Harsh Poddar verified the death toll, stating that 15 fatalities have been reported so far. The exact number of injured persons is yet to be officially confirmed, and rescue operations are ongoing at the site.
SBL Energy Limited, formerly known as Special Blasts Limited, is a major industrial explosives manufacturing company based in Kalmeshwar near Nagpur. The firm produces explosives, detonators and related materials used primarily in mining operations and infrastructure projects. The company operates under a single management structure and is considered a key player in the industrial explosives sector.

The explosion reportedly occurred within the manufacturing premises at Rahudgaon, triggering panic in the surrounding industrial area. The intensity of the blast was significant, leading to extensive damage within the facility.
